Description
The Zoom H1 XLR is a portable handheld recorder that also functions as an audio interface, part of Zoom’s pocket-studio lineup. It features two locking XLR/TRS combo inputs and a 3.5mm stereo input, enabling connection of microphones, stereo board feeds, instruments, on-camera mics, lavaliers, and other sources. The device supports on-device playback and monitoring via a 3.5mm headphone jack and built-in speaker, with a real-time waveform display on a high-contrast OLED screen for quick reference. Recording is designed to be straightforward and reliable, using 32-bit float recording and dual AD converters to preserve detail across a wide dynamic range. The unit can capture stereo or mono files, and it offers line-level operation to record clip-free signals from mixers or line outputs. As an interface, it can connect to a PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device via USB-C, and can record directly to an SD card. Power can be supplied by USB-C or two AA batteries, providing flexible field use.
