Description
The H5studio is a handheld recorder that sits in Zoom’s line of handheld recorders, voice recorders, and audio interfaces. It features studio-grade preamps, 32-bit float recording, and offers a 4-in/2-out USB audio interface with 32-bit float support. The device records to microSD cards and has large 19.4 mm XY microphones for stereo capture. Key capabilities include up to 6 tracks recorded simultaneously (4 individual tracks plus a stereo mix, with stereo mix limited to 96 kHz), and advanced look-ahead limiters to help prevent distortion. The inputs include two locking XLR/TRS jacks that support +48V phantom power and +4 dBu line level, along with a 3.5 mm stereo input and a 3.5 mm stereo line out. A USB-C connection enables digital interfacing with computers and mobile devices. Typical use scenarios involve capturing multi-mic recordings with flexible monitoring options. The H5studio provides real-time waveform monitoring on a full-color LCD, a headphone output, a line-out, onboard speaker for quick previews, and compatibility with various capsules and timecode accessories for synchronized workflows.
