Korg MS-20 Mini

Korg MS-20

Synthesizers & Sound Generators

The Korg MS-20 is an analog synthesizer keyboard that belongs to the MS series, first released in 1978. This instrument is known for its semi-modular architecture, allowing users to create complex sounds through patching while maintaining a straightforward interface. It features two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a noise generator, providing a rich palette of sound design options. The MS-20 is equipped with control voltage (CV) and gate connections, enabling integration with other modular systems and external devices. Its dual multi-mode filters (lowpass, highpass, notch, and band-reject) and two voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs) facilitate detailed sound shaping and dynamic control. This synthesizer is typically used in studio settings for genres such as electronic, techno, and pop, thanks to its ability to produce both classic analog tones and experimental sounds.

Korg Minilogue

Synthesizers & Sound Generators

The Korg Minilogue is a four-voice analogue synthesizer with a 37-key, velocity-sensitive keyboard. Each voice uses two oscillators, and its filter offers two-pole and four-pole modes. It stores 200 programs: 100 presets and 100 user programs. The 16-step polyphonic sequencer supports motion recording for up to four parameters. Eight voice modes provide different ways to allocate the voices, while an OLED oscilloscope displays the generated waveform. Connections include separate headphone and mono audio outputs, a mono audio input, sync input and output, MIDI input and output, and USB Type B. The instrument measures 500 × 300 × 85 mm, weighs 2.8 kg and uses a DC 9 V adapter.

Korg Minilogue XD

Synthesizers & Sound Generators

The Korg Minilogue XD is a compact analog keyboard synthesizer, part of the Minilogue family. It combines an analogue sound generator with a multi digital engine, and it features 4-voice polyphony and a 37-key slim-key keyboard. The instrument offers a 16-step polyphonic sequencer and a range of modulation options, including two VCOs and a multi-engine section with Noise/VPM/User types, plus a dedicated USB B port, MIDI I/O, CV/Gate inputs, and dampers. It is powered by an AC adapter (DC9 V). Notable capabilities include a comprehensive set of main synthesis parameters for VCOs, a mixer that blends VCO1, VCO2, and multi-engine signals, a VCF with cutoff, resonance, drive, and keytracking, and an assignable envelope and LFO for flexible modulation. The XD also provides a variety of effects, with options for chorus, ensemble, phaser, flanger, reverb, and delay, which can be used simultaneously. The unit exposes standard audio I/O such as OUTPUT L/MONO and R jacks, plus a headphone jack for silent monitoring, and it supports external control via CV IN 1/2, SYNC IN/OUT, and USB. Typical use cases include creating lead, bass, and pad textures with a warm analog voice and digital multi-engine textures, sequencing evolving patterns with motion able to modulate several parameters, and performing with external gear through MIDI, USB, and CV connections. The Minilogue XD is designed for both studio and live setups, offering a versatile palette of sounds and a hands-on workflow.

Korg Phase8
